 DAINTREE RIVER AND RAINFOREST

Older than the Amazon, the world renowned Daintree Rainforest is a place of wonder, a photographers dream and source of adventure. Go spotting for Crocodiles on the DaintreeRiver and experience Aboriginal Culture with the traditional owners of the Kuku Yalanji. Make sure you make the time to stop off at the Daintree Discovery Centre too!

 THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

You will find plenty of opportunities to explore the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the world. There are not only cruises available, but snorkelling and scuba diving at the many choice spots and chances to visit some of the islands themselves. You can even tour them from the air for wide expansive views of emerald green and ocean blue.

 WHALE WATCHING

Every winter Humpback and Dwarf Minke Whales migrate to the Great Barrier Reef, guaranteeing that a whale watching tour will be well worth your while!  SKYRAIL

Take a cable car  ride  on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway over the rainforest canopy to receive a bird’s eye view of the world heritage rainforest. Ranger guided tours of the forest floor are included in the experience and once in this quaint village, visitors can check out the local art and craft markets open seven days a week!

 PALM COVE

Just north of Cairns is Palm Cove, with its white sandy beach and close proximity to the Daintree River & Rainforest, is a popular tourist spot for good reason. The drive from Cairns is a joy in itself, with the lush surrounding scenery intermingled with views of the Coral Sea.

 MISSION BEACH

About 90 minutes drive south of Cairns you will find Mission Beach. Boasting the waters of the Great Barrier ReefMarinePark and the deep rainforest of the Wet Tropics it is a great escape from the stress of working life. The carefully preserved surrounding areas have tours and cruises operating from MissionBeach, allowing visitors to experience this part of Australia with a distinct seaside tropical flavour.

 BIRDWORLD KURANDA

Home to largest collection of free-flying birds in Australia, Birdworld displays 75 spectacular species from all over the planet! Set in the lush rainforests of the Atherton Tablelands, there are some endangered species not to be missed!

 CAIRNS LAGOON
This man made saltwater swimming lagoon covers 4 hectares and is perfect for a family day out! Lounge on the soft grass or pack a picnic and use one of the many barbeques the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon has to offer. On the weekends the lagoon is surrounded by live bands and markets and is bound to be a cheap and fun day for all!
